HORTISILK®

In their continuous search for new types of glass suitable for horticultural purposes, Van Looveren NV now presents Hortisilk® 4mm. Just like hammered glass, Hortifrost and Hortigrid, a diffuse light effect in Hortisilk® 4 mm ensures an aesthetic appearance and provides privacy.

There is, however, one major difference. Hammered glass, Hortifrost® and Hortigrid® are glass products of the cast type, and it is known that the bending-strength properties of these types of glass are inferior to normal float glass.

Hortisilk® 4 mm, however, is a float glass with a satin finished surface that has been applied by etching. In this way, the opaqueness aspect is combined with the better breaking strength of float glass. This makes Hortisilk® 4mm extremely suitable for façade glass.

Hortisilk® 4mm can be cut and processed like ordinary float glass, and can also be hardened.
