Van Looveren has already been supplying horticultural glass to greenhouse builders and horticultural companies since 1948.   • The modest beginnings and the steady growth

    The Van Looveren story started in 1948, shortly after the Second World War. The young company specialised in the transport of glass from the manufacturer to horticultural companies. At the start of the fifties the second generation took the helm. The company’s activities were systematically developed. Van Looveren grew to become one of the most important suppliers of horticultural glass in Europe.

  • New buildings in Ranst (Oelegem)

    To support further growth, in 1993 Van Looveren brought new industrial buildings into use on land measuring 18,000 m² in Ranst (Oelegem). With a daily storage capacity of no less than 500 tons of glass. The Port of Antwerp and numerous important international motorways are all close by.

  • Independent family business

    In 1996 the third generation followed down the same path. Van Looveren deliberately remained an independent family business with healthy capital and reserves. The celebration of the fiftieth anniversary in 1998 accordingly took place with a great deal of self-confidence. In the same year the range was extended with synthetic panels for greenhouses.

  • Also for the greenhouse hobbyist

    Van Looveren does not supply direct to the hobby grower, but develops different activities in consultation with manufacturers, importers or sellers of greenhouses for hobbyists. We are then a reliable logistical link in the chain. We also welcome any possible proposal to offer added value relating to safe packaging, custom-made greenhouse glass and synthetic panels.

  • Own crane trucks

    In 2002 Van Looveren brought a first crane truck into use to further improve our service during unloading. Since that time there are already four crane trucks driving around and the surface area turnover has more than doubled.

  • Future assured with fourth generation

    The fourth generation has been settling since 2014. This means that the future of Van Looveren as a customer-oriented family business is assured.
